BBC Proms debut in two ways…

This week I made my debut, in two ways, at the BBC Proms. First of all I got the possibility to have one of my pieces (Sputnik in a new version for string orchestra & piano and an arrangement of one of Brahms Hungarian Dances) represented by Håkan Hardenberger and friends (Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Helen Crayford, Mats Bergström, Claudia Buder & Nail Gruber). Execpt that, I was more or less forced to pick up old chops as a percussionist… More than 14 years since I officially stopped practise…

So… I had to spend some hours of my time off this summer to get a minmal amount of chops to be able to solve this challenge. I usually stick in my comfort zone and I must say that I was happily surprised how fun it was to play again! I joined in for HK Grubers “3 MOB pieces”. And Mr. Gruber conducted. According to some reviews I actually had nothing to be ashamed for and I’ll stick to that truth…
